Welcome to Dovecote Barn

Dovecote Barn is a stunning barn conversion completed in June 2019

Dovecote Barn was renovated alongside The Farmhouse and The Granary on the farm steading known as Marston Lodge Farm.  Once a cattle barn and dovecote and now a beautifully renovated barn conversion.

Dovecote Barn sleeps 8 comfortably. There are 4 bedrooms in total, 1 master bedroom ensuite in the old dovecote on a two tiered level with a mezzanine within the bedroom overlooking unspoilt countryside. On the ground floor there are a further 3 bedrooms. 1 king ensuite wheelchair friendly, 2 further ground floor bedrooms share a family bathroom. 1 king and 1 twin bedded room. There is underfloor heating throughout the living area. There is a large entrance hall and boot room which leads onto a very large open plan kitchen living room. A fabulous kitchen with L shaped island overlooks the dining area. The L-shaped sofa surrounds a large log burner and creates a fantastic area to relax and watch television or read a book. There is a 50” Smart TV and Sonos music system. Large bi-folding doors open onto a large terrace and extensive south-west facing garden. A courtyard door leads from the dining area onto the centralised courtyard. There is also a large utility and ground floor cloakroom.

Dovecote Barn has been designed to a beautifully designed contemporary barn. Large open truss beams in the kitchen living really show the barn off to how old barns can be fantastic comfortable contemporary homes.  The perfect place for large family gatherings. Large private garden, BBQ and terrace. Dog friendly. 2 dogs permitted per stay at an additional cost of £40 per dog. Private Hot Tub.

Private catering and babysitting also available on request. Please request our Approved suppliers list, all external suppliers must get prior approval in advance.

Large bi-folding doors open onto the private terrace and extensive south-west facing garden. Marston Lodge Farm’s resident barn owl lives in the owl box at the far end of the garden and can be seen most evenings hunting for prey. The owl often sits on the fencing around the garden. Access to the communal courtyard door from the dining area onto the centralised courtyard. Utility room with washing machine and dryer and drying rack. Ground floor cloakroom.

Facilities

Dovecote Barn is situated in the centre of a private 3000 acre Estate. There is so much to explore. Incredible wildlife, especially birdlife. There is a resident barn owl who raises her chicks here each year. You will also see a peregrine falcon, buzzards, kites and peewits and many more. The Estate is an arable farm so there will be tractors and combines working in the fields throughout the year.

There is a hot tub available for your personal use. You must sign the hot tub agreement on booking the property. Towels are not provided for the hot tub, please bring your own towels.

Private catering and babysitting also available on request.

Dovecote Barn was, without doubt, the best holiday let we have stayed in. We travel a lot around the UK and Dovecote Barn is really special. The owners have thought of everything. The attention to detail is excellent. The open plan living kitchen was perfect for our family. Large enough that the children could watch TV whilst we cooked and chatted in the kitchen area. Fantastic views over the fields beyond. Completely unrestricted views of the landscape. The evening sunsets were incredible and we even had a fly past by the resident barn owl! We can’t wait to return. Thank you for a memorable holiday.

The Granary was renovated and finished in 2019 from once a grain store and livestock barn into a beatufilly designed barn conversion. The Granary sleeps 12 comfortably. There are 4 super-king ensuite bedrooms and a fabulous 'dorm' with 4 adult size single beds. Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor with large living kitchen comfortably seating 12 around the oak kitchen table. Large open plan living area with L-shaped sofa situated around a large log burner, 50" Smart TV and a built-in bar. The perfect place to celebrate large gatherings for friends and family.
