Welcome to The Granary

The Granary is a stunning barn conversion in the heart of the Vale of York.

The Granary is perfectly situated just 7 miles from York to the East and 7 miles from the market town of Wetherby to the West. Located in the centre of a private Estate surrounded by idyllic arable pasture. If you are looking for the place to get away from it all, this is it.

The Granary is one of three properties at Marston Lodge Farm. A former Granary and cattle barn beautifully converted into 5 star accommodation. Nothing has been forgotten. Beautifully designed ensuite bedrooms and a fantastic “dorm” for all the children. Large living kitchen with an island, range cooker, American style fridge/freezer and large oak dining table comfortably seating all your friends and family. The kitchen leads through to an even larger living room with log burner and L-shaped sofa at one end and a built-in bar ready for your cocktail skills at the other! Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor provided by an air-source heat pump providing a carbon free holiday. Large private garden and communal courtyard and acres of farmland to explore. The perfect base for your Yorkshire adventure. Dog friendly. Maximum 2 dogs permitted. Dogs are charged at £40 per dog. Private Hot Tub.

Private catering and babysitting also available on request. Please request our Approved suppliers list, all external suppliers must get prior approval in advance. 

Information

The Granary is situated in the heart of the Vale of York. 15 minutes from York Station, 40 minutes from Leeds Bradford Airport and 15 minutes from the A1/M. The Granary is incredibly spacious and beautifully designed throughout. Accommodation for 12, master ensuite with super-king bed. 3 further super-king zip & link beds to give added flexibility for your stay, all ensuite. “Dorm” style bedroom with four adult single beds and large ensuite with roll-top bath and shower.

The ground floor has underfloor heating throughout and a large log burner in the enormous living area. L-shaped sofa easily seating 12 around the log burner, 50″ Smart TV, PS4, Sonos music system. Further seating around the built in bar on sofas and bar stools.

The kitchen has three arches with views into the communal courtyard. Range cooker, American style fridge/freezer, large island with bar stool seating for 3. Nespresso coffee machine. Built-in appliances. A microwave is located in the Utility Room. Large oak dining table seating 12.

The Granary features original artwork throughout with a Yorkshire theme. Please do ask for details.

Sleeps up to 12 people

3 super-king ensuite bedrooms. One of the bedrooms can be made into twin bedroom, please advise two weeks before your stay if this is required.

“Dorm” style bedroom with 4 single adult sized beds and ensuite.

Facilities

The Granary is situated in the centre of a private 3000 acre Estate. There is so much to explore. Incredible wildlife, especially birdlife. There is a resident barn owl who raises her chicks here each year. You will also see a peregrine falcon, buzzards, kites and peewits and many more. The Estate is an arable farm so there will be tractors and combines working in the fields throughout the year.

There is a hot tub available for your personal use. You must sign the hot tub agreement on booking the property. Towels are not provided for the hot tub, please bring your own towels.

Wooooow just where do I start from the owner being so nice, caring & thoughtful with the finishing touches to the amazing house, it made celebrating my mums 70th birthday extra special from the age range 12-93years we all just loved our stay here. We have just stayed at The Granary for a week over half term and we can’t speak highly enough of it. Having booked an annual family holiday for over 25 years I can say that hands down this is the best place we have had the pleasure of staying in.

The owner, Sasha, is lovely, nothing is too much trouble. She clearly takes pride in the renovation that has been carried out and rightly so every detail has been thought of from the vast array of utensils in the kitchen, the ridiculously comfortable beds (with plenty of pillows – something that most places we’ve been to lack!!!!) to hairdryers in every bedroom of the house! Don’t even get me started on the gorgeous showers in each ensuite!

The location is amazing too, with the most wonderful sunrises!! We came to Yorkshire to celebrate my 40th birthday and my nephew’s 6th birthday and I can say we have had a truly great time.

Thank you for an extremely memorable week and we look forward to returning some time soon. x

The Granary was renovated and finished in 2019 from once a grain store and livestock barn into a beatufilly designed barn conversion. The Granary sleeps 12 comfortably. There are 4 super-king ensuite bedrooms and a fabulous 'dorm' with 4 adult size single beds. Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor with large living kitchen comfortably seating 12 around the oak kitchen table. Large open plan living area with L-shaped sofa situated around a large log burner, 50" Smart TV and a built-in bar. The perfect place to celebrate large gatherings for friends and family. Private garden and communal courtyard. Dog friendly. Private hot tub.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a beautifully restored and designed traditional farmhouse.

The Farmhouse sleeps 8. Master bedroom with super-king bed and ensuite bathroom. Double bedroom with ensuite. 2 twin bedded rooms sharing a family bathroom. Large living kitchen with log burner with access directly into the private gardenand a cosy separate living room with log burner with 50" Smart TV. Separate pantry with spare fridge and shelving.  Large private garden and communal courtyard. Dog friendly. Private hot tub.

Dovecote Barn

Dovecote Barn

Dovecote Barn was renovated and completed in 2018.  Once a cattle barn and dovecote and now a beautifully renovated barn conversion. Dovecote Barn sleeps 8 comfortably. 1 super-king master ensuite bedroom, 1 king ensuite, 1 king and 1 twin bedded room sharing the family bathroom.  Underfloor heating throughout the living area. Large entrance hall and boot room which leads onto a large open plan kitchen living room. A fabulous kitchen with seating for 10 in the dining area. The L-shaped sofa surrounds a large log burner and creates a fantastic area to relax and watch television or read a book. 50” Smart TV and Sonos music system. Large bi-folding doors open onto a large terrace and extensive south-west facing garden. A courtyard door leads from the dining area onto the centralised courtyard. There is also a large utility and ground floor cloakroom. Private hot tub.
